VB KIDZ MINISTRY
In VB Kids, we are committed to growing healthy families, investing in our children, and partnering with parents to raise kids who know and love Jesus. Each week children gather together in age appropriate groups to worship, listen to a message, and meet in small groups for crafts and discussion. All classrooms are staffed with trained volunteers who have been background checked. VB Kids services take place at the same time adult services do, in the VB Kids wing.
We encourage parents to be a parent helper in their child’s classroom once a month. By doing this, you help keep VB Kids running, are able to further connect with your child, and learn more about what we are doing on Sundays!
If you are planning to visit our church for the first time, here’s a quick overview of what you can expect.
Come to the Check-in counter in the Kids ministry hall and check your child into our database system. We will ask for the following personal information: family members’ names, children’s names and birthdates, family address, phone number.
This is only requested for first time visitors as information will be stored to ensure a faster, smoother check-in for next time.
Once your child is checked in, one of our volunteers will be happy to show you the age-appropriate room we have created for your child.
Upon CHECK-IN you will receive a card and your child will be given a matching identification sticker.
We use a card number system to contact you. If you are needed, your number will be displayed on the projector screen in the main auditorium. Therefore, please keep your card nearby during the service.
The identification stickers have numbers that are matched to your card during check-out at the end of the service. At the end of your visit, please return to the Kids hall and go to your child’s classroom and hand in your card.
Your child will then be released safely back to you.
Please note that for security reasons once children have been CHECKED IN they will not be allowed to return to the main hall unsupervised. Please explain this to your children. Should your child need you, you will be notified to come and collect your child in their classroom.
Please also ensure you come promptly after the service to collect your children.
Please note that the CHECK-IN closes after kids worship at 10:00.
Children who have not been checked in will not be permitted to enter the kid’s ministry area / classes after 10:00 as this disrupts the lessons and compromises security.
At VB Kidz we recognize that we are not just teaching children but shaping the future generation of world changers! We therefore want to partner with parents in raising disciples that represent JESUS well to the world!
We therefore have the following FIVE expectations of our VB Kidz children:
- Be kind to each other!
- Be respectful to teachers.
- Participate
- Listen / Follow instructions
- Have Fun
Please enforce these values at home by explaining required behaviour at church.
We would like to ask parents to discourage kids from taking toys to kid’s church as they can get lost and also it distracts other children during the lessons.
Please also note that cell phones are not allowed in classes for kids ages 4-12. Thank you for your co-operation in making VB Kidz a safe environment for families.
Our VB Kidz ministry team looks forward to partnering with you as you teach your child about JESUS.
As partners, the home and church can build spiritual foundations that will last forever.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

VB KIDZ CLASSES

Parents Lounge (Babies 0-18 months)
In early 2021 we plan to have a parents lounge for moms and dads to have a space to be with their babies whilst listening to the message through a PA system or TV.

Toddler Town (18 months to 3 years)
Our Toddlers discipleship program focuses on Bible stories, play and building the character of God in the lives of pre-schoolers ages 18 months to 3 years old.
Children who are confident to stay without Mom or Dad can be checked in at the start of the class at 10:15.
For children who are not yet confident to remain without Mom or Dad, we encourage one of the parents to remain and participate with their child during the class.
Time: 10:15 After adult worship, during the coffee break
Pre-School Park (Ages 4-6)
Pre-school Park Sunday is designed to equip children with the basic knowledge of Bible stories and Bible truths. Our goal is to teach each child about Jesus. Application is made from scripture to everyday living. We work to make children’s Bible study fun, creative and exciting. Four and five and six-year-olds have an opportunity to participate in a weekly Memory Bible Verse program.
